Undergraduate Internships
Farlingaye High School
Aimed at those studying for a degree focused on Chemistry, Physics, Maths, Computing and MFL, undergraduate internships offers a taste of what it’s like to work in a school and is aimed at those who are potentially interested in teaching secondary Maths, Physics, Chemistry or MFL at a later date.
The programme is a government-backed scheme and is designed to provide a taster of what it’s like to be a teacher, work in a school and engage with young people. It provides opportunities for classroom experience and to be involved with students in a range of opportunities and situations. Interns will receive £425 week, with successful applicants completing 3 weeks at Farlingaye High School.
Dates of the internship are to be confirmed but will be part of June/July 2025 and the programme will run for 3 weeks. Applications will be open from December 2024.

Northgate High school
Northgate High School has been awarded a grant by the Department of Education to offer a a three-week teaching internships to six STEM undergraduates in the Summer of 2025.
Any undergraduates who are considering training to teach Physics, Maths, Chemistry, MFL (French, Spanish or German) or Computing and do not yet have a confirmed Initial Teacher Training place may participate in the programme.
The internship will run from Monday 16th June to Friday 4th July 2025 and interns will be based at Northgate High School in the relevant department full time. As well as gaining classroom experience, observing lessons, receiving training and playing a full part in school life; interns are also offered follow up support after the internship to assist with their teacher training application.
The deadline to submit an application is Monday 24th February 2025, however applications may close earlier if the places are filled.
