After the success of this programme in the summer of 2021, we’re delighted to announce that our Undergraduate Internship will be returning for the summer term of 2022. Aimed at those studying for a degree focused on any of the sciences, maths and engineering, it offers a taste of what it’s like to work in a school and is aimed at those who are potentially interested in teaching secondary maths or physics at a later date.
The programme is a government-backed scheme and is designed to provide a taster of what it’s like to be a teacher, work in a school and engage with young people. You’ll be given some classroom experience and be involved with students in a range of opportunities and situations. It’s a paid internship of £300 a week, meaning successful applicants complete 3 weeks with our schools. The programme will be run in late June/early July, and applications will open soon. If anyone wishes to express an interest please contact Peter Smith, Deputy Headteacher at Farlingaye High School via email firstname.lastname@example.org
Additionally, one of our partnership schools, Northgate High School is also able to offer the Undergraduate Internship programme this summer, and will be ideal for those living in the Ipswich locality.
