About our SCITT
EAST SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training)
EAST SCITT has been formed and is run by a partnership of schools in Suffolk committed to excellence in the classroom. We see EAST SCITT as the most effective way to find and develop future teachers to work in our vibrant county. We work closely with the University of Buckingham to offer the additional option to study for a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with 60 Masters' credits, alongside QTS.
Our programmes are designed to build confidence, skills and valuable experience. As a trainee teacher, you will work alongside expert practising teachers who will equip you with secure knowledge and practical experience to ensure you can provide the best possible experiences for pupils. We welcome trainee teachers from a wide variety of backgrounds and experience – whether you are a recent graduate or an experienced professional looking to change your career.
At EAST SCITT, we are committed to creating a training environment where every individual can thrive. We value diversity in all its forms and actively champion equality of opportunity. Our programmes are designed to be flexible and responsive, offering tailored support for trainees with additional needs or disabilities, so that everyone can develop the skills and confidence to succeed in the classroom.
We offer a bespoke experience to cater for your individual needs. Our programmes include Primary, Art, Biology, Chemistry, Computing, Design Technology, English, Geography, History, Maths, MFL, Music, Physics, Psychology and Religious Education. Please enquire directly if you wish to train to teach in a subject not listed.
